Abeco

a studio album by Graham Raine and Bridget Enever

The influences for this instrumental album come from Jazz, Folk, Latin-American, African and pretty much everywhere else. It is arranged for six musicians - Sax, Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Drums and Percussion, with Graham & Bridget playing most of the instruments themselves.

The album was written and recorded over a period of about three years. This may seem like a long time, but it was recorded on a very tight budget (i.e. nil), and its completion was postponed many times in favour of projects that paid the rent!

Graham and Bridget performed sections of this album live with a band featuring North-East musicians Neil Harland (bass) and Paul Smith (drums)

A Bit of an Earful

Stories told by Chris Bostock,
Music by Graham Raine and Bridget Enever.

Most of the music and stories on this recording were originally performed together as part of a touring show called "A Right Earful!", which featured the unique storytelling skills of Chris Bostock, and specially composed music by Graham Raine and Bridget Enever.

Chris travels all over the world, telling and collecting stories, and the tales on this album are just a few of the stories that he knows and tells. The stories told here come from Northern Europe, Asia, Britain and Ireland.

The music was composed to create an atmosphere which complements the dramatic content of the stories and draws the listener in. We have given the tunes a traditional flavour, which we hope reflects the parts of the world the stories come from.
